OK OK so the Memorial Weekend past and seems that Will Smith-O is still a power to reckon with, but not as strong as he used to be on July 4 openings, let see if Independence Day 2 can secure his awesomely July 4th weekend.
Well Avengers have calmed down a bit, but not before it passes Star Wars Episode 1 and 10 Mill away from Dark Knights number 3 spot in the all time doestic box office. I really dont think the team can catch the giant blu guys, but possible could re-sink the Titanic.
This week sees Thor put up against himself in Snow White and The Huntsman and some big Ol' Boobs in Piranha 3DD. I will eventually see both, after i catch MIB3 this weekday.
So I need to speed this up a little so i am gouing to put 2 picks this time and so on until we hit hit numero 1 (which about 92% of yall picked the same thing)
Looks like a bunch of the next movies are interchangable withing the next couple of place from #9 to #6. but with some of these flicks out already and already hitting dirt and crashing, seems like some of these wont even make it on the master list at all.

#8 SW&H: A dark twist on a classic story. I'd be interested in watching it because it's not all flowers, butterflies, and unicorns. Will also appeal to male viewers as it has action and violence.
ReplyDelete#7 DS: LOTS of the Baby Boomers & Johnny Depp/Tim Burton fans would come out in droves to watch this. This is a very beloved show from the 70s and lots of buzz of people wanting to see it.
Concur on Snow White really loks interesting, while some peps well see for Thor and Bella, i will go see for the The Dwarfs (Nick Frost and the guy from the Mist and Capt America) and the Queen.
DeleteYeah Dark Shadows looks like i bombed, but look at it this way it could win Summer Flop.
For the record. I hate commenting on blogspot because they make it so hard to post some times. You'll write an essay, sign in and everything gets deleted. ARG
ReplyDeletePlain and simple...no 8...dunno what to tell you...what was i thinking...I dunno...it has a funny trailer a good cast I was thinking bridesmaids with a twist of hangover...maybe it woulda done better in a different slot. I did read an article though about how there is so much politicing for movie slots...so maybe the producers knew this movie wasn't going to excel at the theaters...maybe it's a dud...only 22% on rotten tomatoes probably tells you everything you need to know on this movie. Oh well I'll get over it. Kinda sucks I wasted two picks on this movie.
Another blogspot note...whats up with the robot stuff...Please prove ure not a robot...really? It's probably why twitter has exploded and blogging tends to fall by the wayside now...just saying...
ReplyDelete#7...so here we go...I don't remember my list very well...but I think I remember only putting two of the three main animated movies out there...I'll save my comments on Brave when we get to it...but it'll fall along the lines of Ice Age 4...can you rely deny how well IA4 is going to do...its going to dominate..and while I think Madagascar will do well also, I do think it's not as a big franchise as IA...despite it prob being funnier (I love the penquins)...I really can't stand seeing Manny the elephant any more...I'm not saying it's going to be good either...I mean really they should have stopped at part 1... but I think IA4 shows the power of sequels...and just when I thought of leaving IA4 off the list...I started thinking about Pirates of the Carribean 4...really the made a PT4...the first 3 were that good??!?!?!?! I dont' even know a single person that has seen the 4th...but it made millions and billions....in the end IA4 comes down to track record...strength of the brand...and kids....kids rule the movies in the end. It's a known commodity that Parents know their Kids will love cuz heck they took them to the last 3....
One more note...can we get off the Baby Boomer Band wagon...those jerks don't go to the movies...please stop catering to those freaks...they're old...they want to stay at home and pop advil and aspirins and midal and whatever they do...they don't like being in the open paying $12 a ticket and $20 for popcorn and a coke...its nonsense to them...please stop making remakes of the 70s and the 60s and the 80s...no one cares...I was glad to see that the 3 stooges was a dud (well I think so at least)...I dont' want to see the 3 stooges or adams family or anything else remade...give me original movies...I'm kinda upset that they are remaking spiderman...just let it go... try something new...quit repackaging movies and calling them new...don't remake Hangover and give me the EXACT same story line have a he/she's penus in it and call it a day...that's lazy and pointless
That being said I'm a huge fan of Dark Knight and the remake of Girl with a Dragon tatoo...so I'm not sure if that hurts my argument...maybe I should argue that if you're going to remake it do it well...I have high expectations for Snow White with Charlize Sexababomb Theron...that being said I don't want a live action movie of Bambi
`Isnt Manny a Woolly Mammoth- IDK I have never seen one complete movie of that franchise or Madagascar and prob wont even though the MG commercial with Afro Circus Afro circus is kind of catchy and funny.
Delete`But you love remakes, how about 21 Jump Street.
How can they not 'remake" spiderman, its made billions of billions of dollars, they'll stop when ever SM opens with 20 million weekend.
Quick comment on others picks...
ReplyDeleteNumero 8
Tony Balongna- What to Excpect when your Expecting
What was I thinking....arg....
Kikz- Snow WHhite and the Huntsman (good pick)
K-Mouse- Dark Shadows (the only way you can defend this if you pull the, "well it opens in May card" but I think Johny Depp Tim Burton movies don't have a good traction at the box office. They have an audience but they don't have a huge draw)
Manny Cool- Bourne Legacy (With no Matt Damon I see an X-men hit to this. I want to see this one, but might wait for DVD)
Mocs- Total Recall (I'm not sure how to feel about this one. It looks like the EXACT SAME STORY. I really like the original so why mess with it. Looks like a Box Office Stunner. Might be this year's Planet of the Apes. Reviews will matter for this movie to do well in August)
Jess- Intouchables (can't rememebr the trailor. Don't want to look it up)
Betty- Ice Age Coninental drift (Good pick)
Eli- Tyler Perry Witness Protection Program (No Tyler Perry movie does top ten. At least I don't think I've seen one. This one won't either)
Marci- Savages (Trying to recall trailor...can't do it)
Rosey- Snow White and the Huntsman (I don't think it's a big deal where these movies are in you're top ten as long as they are. It's like trying to guess NFL draft picks)
Rene- Men inBlack 3 (Good pick)
Edgar- Prometheus (See results of Cowboys and Aliens 2011. Sci Fi with a bit of horror kinda from trailor might keep it out of top 10. I like Lindelof though)
Numero 7
Tony B- Ice Age 3 (No brainer)
Kikz- Dark Shadows (No brain)
K-Mouse- Snow White and the Huntsman (No brainer)
Manny Cool- Men in Black 3 (No brainer)
Mocs- Brave (Good pick, but I think this is kinda low. You have to put Pixar in top 5 don't you? Pixar is like Peyton Manning. Even his off years he was still top 5 QB fantasy QB wise wasn't he?)
Jess- Prometheus (No puede)
Betty- Men in Black 3 (Good PIck)
Eli- Tyler erry Marrage Counselor (Did Eli really go back to back with Tyler Perry?)
Marci- Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3 (ummmmm......maybe she knows something I don't about this Franchise. Sequel gives it plus points. But I don't know a kid that's read the book much less seen the movie. I don't know that many kids though)
Rosey- Men in Black 3 (No brainer)
Rene- Bourne Legacy (We'll see. I hope it does well. I want to see Damon vs Renner)
Edgar- Ice Age 3 (Good pick)
Intouchables: look up the trailer. It's foreign, but it did very, VERY well over seas. Just remember, it can be the next Slum Dog Millionaire.
DeleteNO brainer
ReplyDeleteNo Brain.... Good one
Intouchables is my Sleeper Hit- Looks good, but it is a foriegn flick which overseas has made already 200 million plus. but dont know if the audience is there, hoping The Artist has opened up eyes for a different kind of movie.
Bourne- Yeah that would be after Renner (hope he's good in this... just kidding i dont hate him) does good opoening and good s equal then theyll bring Matt D back---- Manny C Robot Response
I think I should have done Brave higher, it's a Pixar movie. But I figured after Cars 2 (flop) that maybe the Pixar buzz would cool enough for it to make it to number 7.
ReplyDeleteAnd quite frankly, I had to put Total Recall to number 8. I love the first movie, and putting it any where lower would have been terrible. Plus, I am hoping it doesn't completely suck balls like the other re-makes out there. If it is good, it only has a few weeks to catch up to the other movies on the list.
As long as it makes it in the top 10, TR has about 3 or 4 weeks and after that Games Over.
